How to earn money while ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot are thinking
· 5 min read
When you ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot a question, there is a short pause while the answer is written. Idlebid uses that pause. It shows one short, clearly labelled sponsored line next to the answer, and pays you half of what the advertiser pays for it.
What you actually do
- Create an account with your email address. There is no password: we send a one-time sign-in link.
- Link the tool you use: the browser extension for 12 AI chat sites, the VS Code or JetBrains plugin, or the command-line tool for Claude Code.
- Use AI as you normally do. When an answer takes a few seconds, one sponsored line appears.
- Watch your dashboard: every counted view and its value is listed.
When does a view count?
A view counts only when at least half of the line is visible for 5 seconds in a row, the window is in focus, and it is the only counted view in that wait. There is also a limit of one counted view per 20 seconds per device. These rules protect advertisers from paying for views nobody saw, which keeps the value of each view high for you.
How much do you get paid?
You earn 50% of the price of each counted view, and Idlebid keeps the other 50%. What a view is worth depends on what advertisers bid in a live auction, so earnings depend on how much you use AI tools and on demand. We do not promise any amount.
Earnings are held for 30 days so fraud can be caught. After that you can withdraw once your balance reaches USD 10.
Is it private?
Yes. Idlebid never reads, stores or sends your prompts, the AI answers, your source code or your file names. The apps only notice that an answer is in progress so they can show the line. Your IP address is not stored, only a one-way fingerprint used to detect fraud.
