How to advertise to AI chatbot users: a guide to Idlebid Network Ads
· 6 min read
People who use AI tools all day are hard to reach with ordinary ads: they live in chat windows and code editors. Idlebid Network Ads place one short sponsored line in those tools during the few seconds a person is waiting for an answer.
Where your ad can appear
- Browser: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Grok, Mistral Le Chat, Meta AI, Poe, Qwen and Kimi.
- IDEs: the Idlebid chat in VS Code and JetBrains / Android Studio.
- Command line: coding agents such as Claude Code.
How pricing works
You pay per 1,000 counted views (CPM) and set your own bid. Ads compete in a live priority auction: the highest bid is shown first and the winner pays the second price, so you are never charged more than the bid that was needed to win.
What counts as a view
You are charged only for qualified impressions: at least 50% of the line visible for 5 seconds continuously, with the window focused, at most one per wait and one per 20 seconds per device. Every ad shows a visible "Sponsored - Idlebid" label and a dismiss button.
Targeting and review
You can target browsers, IDEs or the command line, and choose countries. Every ad is reviewed before it runs, so your line appears next to other reviewed advertisers.
How you pay
Campaigns are prepaid by bank transfer in your local currency. An order starts once the money has arrived and is confirmed.
